Blast from the Past

It has been a blast from the past sort of day. When I was walking home from the library I saw a kid wearing parachute pants. When I say blast from the past, I mean really past, because parachute pants were even before my time! What can I say? I'm just a lil tyke. Also my neighbors were playing Cyndi Lauper and Madonna and Mariah Carey all day. Oh, girls just wanna have fun. Funny thing is, I think it's mostly boys in that flat...but I guess I could be wrong, as I know their sound system better than I know them...Anyways, to celebrate all the 80's music and parachute pants, I put a Disney Princess bandaid on an especially bad paper cut I had just acquired while researching for my, ahem, lovely papers (yes, in this uni, we actually use books from the library to write papers...).

Oh, and can't forget the ancient Saab I saw on the way home from the gym with little baby wipers on the headlights...That has to be blast from the past material...Do those even exist now? And why in the world have I never seen them before? They're brilliant!!

On a completely different note...

I have never ever seen anyone as proud of their country as the kid I met today who happened to be from Denmark. He was with my Bulgarian flatmate and one of her friends, and as we were being introduced he made sure to add "I'm from Denmark" just in case I was fooled by his blonde hair and light eyes and thought he was Bulgarian as well. I told him I had been to Copenhagen and I thought it was gorgeous, and when I looked at him he just had this big goofy grin stuck on his face, and was speechless. You could feel the "proud" waves rolling off him.

...just in case you wanted to step inside a day in the life of claire...!

xx
