BABY'S SIZE an avocado! (4.6 inches, 3.5 ounces)
WEIGHT GAIN still around the same when i do morning weights. i never believe my ones at my appointments because usually i have worked all night (i almost always gain 5 pounds in a day), and wearing all my clothes, my shoes, etc.
HOW I'M FEELING i'm back to that "is it real?" place. the nausea is over (as long as i eat snacks a lot), i'm feeling pretty normal again, i'm poochy - but nothing serious, no movement or anything happening yet (i keep waiting for it!).
right as i turned 16 weeks, i noticed that my back was super tweaky and sore, and my eyes were feeling so dry and itchy. i just kind of thought both were a result of working. turns out, those are real symptoms that are starting to pop up.
WHAT I'M EATING now that the excitement of being able to eat veggies has worn off, i haven't been eating as many. so this week i'm trying to be super conscious about eating all the right/healthy foods.
i'm still dreaming about the magical dad soup with all the veggies.
HOW I'M CHANGING i have my first two stretchies. i knew i would get them, because i'm kind of full of them everywhere else. if nothing else feels like it's happening, these two little guys are the things telling me i'm still growing a little human!
MOVEMENT nothing yet, although i kind of wait to feel the "flutters" and "twitches" that people/books say the first movements feel like. mostly i just feel my belly growling.
SLEEP even with my three days of work this week, i've slept fabulously. hopefully that will last! i have a week off so i can get back to days for a bit and get things done! (that did not happen. i took eda for walks and took many, many naps... but my intentions were good).
my hips have been HURTING this week when i sleep. they normally hurt every now and then (i guess because they are not tiny? maybe lack of working out?), but normally i just roll over and go back to sleep. this week, it wakes me up and i have to stretch and do like range of motion stuff. it's awful. (i kind of wonder if it's related to the back tweakies?)
THINGS THIS WEEK already crying on day one of the week. this reason is pretty valid though: one of my nights at work, i had to call the doctor on one of my patients because her vitals were looking weird. they started doing tests, and did a bunch more throughout the day and found out she's really sick. so she was moved to another unit where they take care of the more acute patients. even though she was so scared and feeling so awful, she was so thankful to the day nurse and i. she said we were "badass and we saved her life." if that doesn't make you cry, then maybe you should try thinking about the cinnamon rolls from Prairie Rose.
i also read a book book this week. i've been doing a little reading on my kindle lately, but this week i finally got to hold the real thing. the lost art of keeping secrets by eva rice. so fabulous. i bought it after reading it a few years ago and i like to occasionally reread it (which is serious, because i very rarely reread books).
LOOKING FORWARD TO arley coming home from his cruise. without me. when i think about it though, i think it's good that i didn't go because i would probably just get sea sick. no to nausea!!
FUN FACT the tiny ear bones are forming, so baby can hear us!
