#19. what is your opinion of religion?
oh dear. i don't know. i like parts of most religions that i know anything about, and i dislike parts of most religions i know anything about.
here is what i think:
i think that you don't necessarily need religion to be a good person. i think that you can have morals without religion. in some instances, i think it's more important to have morals that to be guilted into doing the "right" thing by your religion.
i also think that some (or many, i don't really know i guess) people use religion to shoulder their blame. as in:
"it's my fate, i can't change it"
"it's how god made me, i can't change"
and so on and so forth.
aa. i think that is definitely a religious institution(?) that lets people push their blame onto something else. it's a religious program to help cure alcoholism - a disease - yes, i admit it can BECOME a physiological disease and that some people are more suceptible* than others - but all the same, a disease that we bring on ourselves by drinking in the first place.
*i have no idea how to spell that word
