my kids

this girl is so weird.  weirdest lyrics ever.  i don't even like some of her stuff because it's just so insane.

not that i have any.  kids, that is.
but when i do, i hope they are like my sister was when she was a baby.
i didn't even know her then (as i wasn't alive yet) and i laugh hysterically every time i see pictures of her.
i have a bunch on my fridge.  it makes for happy mornings, which are difficult to come by when you are me.

any kid that wears sweatshirts, underwear, and dress shoes,
snowboots and roller skates,
and beanies and undies is my kind of kid.
not that she would ever admit to it these days.  i know the truth, pj!

haiku of the day:

how i love my sis
mostly she is mean to me (!)
have to get her back!!!

it rained the other day while we were working, and it was freeeezing
but it did make for some nice window photos.

haiku of the day:

mountain biking. again!

beautiful, beautiful.  love this song.  clever lyrics, as well.

i went to curt goudy for the first time.
we went mountain biking!
it was fun, then it wasn't, so we ditched our bikes and walked.
now i want to go back!

this was on the way there, i believe.

haiku of the day:

it's getting so late
i have lots of pictures left
no time, have to sleep!

the creepy kid and the not so creepy kid

one of my newest favs.  i don't really know why it's about prague, although i hear that it is the paris of eastern europe...
___________________________________________

one time this kid gave me these.  but it wasn't creepy like this other time when this other kid gave me flowers.  it was actually really nice.  and he picked them from his house just because i told him i loved lilacs.

the other creepy time:
i met one of my neighbours and we had coffee.  ONCE.  and the next day he showed up with this giant, horrible, bouquet of yellow roses, in the most horrifying vase i've ever seen.  along with the flowers was a mix cd, which he told me he had spent Hours making.
it was all just really weird.  he wanted to be friends (or whatever), over the next 2 weeks, but any time we hung out, as they say, he only talked about himself.  if i said anything he would start out by not listening, then he would interrupt to tell me something about himself.  and when he came over, he would just walk to my computer and change my music, without even Asking!!  How.  Rude.
the final straw was when i ran into him at a bar when i was out with my old friend russell (i say old because he got a girlfriend a few months ago, and i haven't seen him since!).  when i got home later, i saw that creepy neighbour had texted me a few times.  here is what he said:
TEXT #1:  i'm not going to make you any more cds
me (in my head, or talking to myself, who really knows?):  excuse me??
TEXT #2:  and i never would have made you any if i had known what kind of company you keep
me (again, hopefully inside my head): what does that have to do with Anything???

i thought he was completely rude, completely out of line, and completely ridiculous.  i couldn't just stand by and let him say whatever-irrelevant-supposed-to-be-mean things about my friends, so i called him.  with a little vodka cran courage, i might add.

me:  what in the world, creepy neighbour??  (i didn't actually call him that, but i know everyone who ever hears this story is going to want to beat him up, so i'm saving his creepy little skin!)
c.n.:  i was offended when you didn't invite me to have a drink with you and your FRIEND.
me:  i was out with HIM, and we talked before he and i were leaving that bar, creepy neighbour!
c.n.:  i guess that's true.  but i'm serious about what i texted you.
me:  creepy, neighbour, if you honestly base your relationships with people by the cd's you make them, then i think that you have a looootttt to learn about life.  it's petty, and it's completely immature.
c.n.:  .....
me:  and it was really rude of you to insult my friends.  i don't tell you if i hate your friends, because i realize they're You're friends, not My friends, don't i?
c.n.: ye-
me:  and even if i'm jealous because i would rather be hanging out with you, i still don't insult the people you're with.
c.n.: ya but-
me: and even if blah blah blah blah.

it went on for another good 2 minutes.
and then he asked me if i wanted to come over for breakfast!
me: no, creepy neighbour!  i'm mad at you right now!

it was and will probably be the only time i've ever had anything good to say in the moment in sticking up for myself.  the only junky thing is, is that i wasn't even standing up for myself, i was standing up for russell, who didn't even care!  boys...!

anyways, this time when i got flowers, it was only after knowing him for 5 months, and because i told him i loved the smell of lilacs.  and they were picked and in a tin can.  and i said, "thanks man!  but seriously, you better not be getting any ideas!"

haiku of the day:

flowers are nice, sure
but not from those weirdo boys
i love sundresses

a real fiyah! (aka fire)

watching makes me dizzy.  love these girls' weird voices.
_____________________________________________

i am going on one.
a fire.
a real one.
except the luxury kind.
i'm going with the engine to texas.
and we are hotel camping every night.
if i went on the non-luxury fire, i would be going with a 20 man (slash woman) crew, and camping outside everynight and most likely not having a real shower for at least 2 weeks.

how lucky am i?!

i told timmy i would laugh at every single one of his jokes if he keeps booker in line.  so we shall see how long this trip really feels....

wish me luck!

haiku of the day:

i need lots of luck
because i don't have so much
gonna be a month...
