BABY'S SIZE a pomegranite! 10.5 inches, 12.5 ish ounces.
WEIGHT GAIN a few pounds. i was kind of expecting that i would have gained like 20 pounds by now...
HOW I'M FEELING super duper sick this week. it's a cold, but i think this monster baby of ours makes me super susceptible, so it feels like 10 colds all at the same time. i had to call in to work, sort of because i have a nasty cough, but mostly because i am ridiculously exhausted and can't even fathom staying awake for 12 hours straight, let alone actually do work.
WHAT I'M EATING focusing on my veggies this week. my guts are super thankful! cereal is all i want to eat, but i feel better when i eat fruits and veggies. so i'm trying my best.
HOW I'M CHANGING i'm pooching and pooching. i'm getting second glances from strangers, i've been noticing.
MOVEMENT i can feel it! it's wiggling all over the place! it's so amazing!
SLEEP still sleeping so much. but waking up every 3 hours to pee. so irritating. i've started waking up a little more to roll over. it takes a little more effort now.
THINGS THIS WEEK i had my first super fun meeting with sciatica the other morning as i was getting into bed. the fire shot down my leg and i almost screamed. and all my muscles tensed up, so it was hard to relax enough for everything to kind of realign. it was the worst. it also helped me realize that the weird nerve pain in the small of my back was definitely NOT sciatica.
arley made me work while i was sick. he made me do chores and i was very upset about this. ask him what he did once he got the worst of it (hint: it involves bed and video games).
LOOKING FORWARD TO feeling better. this cold has really taken it out of me.
FUN FACT baby can suck its thumb and open its eyes. it's also starting to develop the meconium - the super fun tar poop that is Impossible to clean off.

BABY'S SIZE a banana! 6.5 inches, 10 ish ounces.
WEIGHT GAIN eh. still not tracking. i think it mostly just stresses me out. am i gaining enough? am i gaining too much? am i going to get gestational diabetes next week?
HOW I'M FEELING great, other than this awful cold i'm sporting. it always seems to be something.
WHAT I'M EATING we ate some SERIOUS new mexican food today. like crying, face and neck flushing, chugging half a gallon of water, serious. arley says that's what he always used to eat when he was sick and it made him feel better. and then he had the heartburn of a pregnant woman. :)
HOW I'M CHANGING my belly is aaaaalmost a pregnant belly, rather than just poochy. my back is super tweaky, and i check my rings every day to make sure today is not the day they will have to be cut off swollen fingers. so far so good.
MOVEMENT i am 95% sure i am feeling some wiggles! FINALLY! the other 5% tells me that it's my guts...
SLEEP still needing about 18 hours of sleep a day, it feels like. last night i slept the whole night without getting up for the bathroom. which means i got very dehydrated on my drive (even though i was stopping every 2 hours for a potty break, AND drinking the entire day).
THINGS THIS WEEK IKEA trip! woo hoo! we are now the proud owners of a beautiful, beautiful crib. for a real live baby! curtesy of yaya and pop, who sneakily bought it after i made sure the checkout lady knew it was meant for my purchase. we are very thankful and can't wait to put it together, and start decorating the nursery! only one coat of paint left to go!!
LOOKING FORWARD TO we are hopefully going to have a garage sale in the next week or so to get rid of many many things that are piling up around here. looking forward to a clutter free house!
FUN FACT baby has working taste buds and is swallowing a few ounces of amniotic fluid a day.

BABY'S SIZE a mango! 6 inches, 8.5 ounces. i learned from work that ultrasounds can be up to a pound off, so to take their measurements with a tiny grain of salt.
WEIGHT GAIN according to my appointment 3 pounds. i haven't weighed myself since.
HOW I'M FEELING good. i like to think i've been less moody, but let's be honest. moody is my normal self. i kind of doubt that these raging hormones are doing anything to calm it down...
WHAT I'M EATING still the cereal. i told arley not to buy it anymore so it wouldn't even be an option, and he said, "but i like cereal." i think he's reliving his childhood. we've gone through honey nut cheerios, fruit loops, now fruity pebbles, which i could do without. next is kix, according to arley.
HOW I'M CHANGING starting to feel more poochy. i definitely notice when i bend down to tie my shoes, for example. it feels like my guts are about to get squished out.
MOVEMENT i'm trying and trying to feel any kicks or wiggles. and i still can't tell if it's me or if it's baby. i feel like when i'm aaaaalmost to sleep i can feel things - but that might just be dreams.
SLEEP i slept 11.5 hours last night. i decided to get up because my hips were hurting from so much laying around. and then about 5 hours later i took a 2 hour nap (because i'm on call and have to sleep just in case) and i fell asleep with no problem.
THINGS THIS WEEK it feels like we're making progress on the house! the bedroom is painted, and now arley is working his way down both hallways. i'm cleaning out the nursery. i think i've packed out at least 2 truckloads of junk and there is still more to go.
LOOKING FORWARD TO meeting my family in denver to do some crib shopping! woo hoo!
FUN FACT nerve cells for the senses - taste, hearing, sight, smell - are developing in baby's brain

BABY'S SIZE a yam! 5.5 inches and almost 7 ounces. it actually says sweet potato but i like to say "yam" better. i do like to eat sweet potatoes though...
WEIGHT GAIN still nothing, so i stopped weighing myself.
HOW I'M FEELING up and down. up and down. mostly with the tireds.
WHAT I'M EATING arley is really pulling through for me. i've had cheesy poufs, and brownies, and ice cream, and froot loops (i think that's how they spell it). and somehow, we've also been having really healthy dinners. score!
HOW I'M CHANGING i don't really feel different, but arley says my belly is growing. "you're getting big," is what he actually said. "that phrase is off limits," is what i said back.
people at work are feeling my belly, so apparently something is happening.
MOVEMENT still nothing. pooh. i'm trying really hard, but then i only feel my pulse or my belly growling. i read and was told that it can wait as long as 22 weeks. especially since my placenta is attached in the front. during the ultrasound on monday, we could see baby moving and bonking into the placenta, and i felt nothing. apparently the placenta is kind of the shock absorber and that's why it takes longer. baby has to bulk up a little before i'll start to feel those sweet kicks and punches. and by sweet, i mean those cute little rib kicks that take your breath away, and those lovely kidney punches.
SLEEP i got kind of sick this week, and so have been sleeping A LOT. speaking of, i'm going to go take a nap right now.
THINGS THIS WEEK we had our anatomy screen on monday! baby is tucked way down in the corner next to my bladder (hence the pee every 10 minutes feeling), and even if we wanted to we couldn't have found out the sex. sneaky, stubborn little thing.
the ultrasound makes things super distorted sometimes, and our little yam sometimes looked like a gorilla, then a dinosaur, then a skeleton monster. so now we refer to it as monster baby.
i was given an order to have my blood drawn again and when i read it i thought that the ultrasound tech had lied and actually knew it was a girl. i read claire, birthday, female, WHAT?! turns out, it's me who's the female...
didn't cry watching parks and rec when leslie and ron became friends again and bonded over jamming to billy joel. success!
LOOKING FORWARD TO moving back into our bedroom. fresh paint, ya'll! and it looks fabulous. we even have fancy new gold buffalo skull to hang for sweet dreams. that's a thing, right?
FUN FACT baby yawns, hiccups, sucks, and swallows. baby is also twisting, rolling, punching, and kicking.

BABY'S SIZE an onion! 5 inches and 6 ounces!
WEIGHT GAIN still none...
HOW I'M FEELING pretty good. still weirdly emotional out of nowhere.
WHAT I'M EATING cereal. and just the other night ICE CREAM. RIGHT NOW. but i don't want to get dressed to go get some. "what kind do you want?" "ugh, i don't know..." "i think that means you have to come." (i got dressed just for ice cream.)
HOW I'M CHANGING i don't feel super changey this week.
MOVEMENT i'm waiting and waiting, but still nothing but belly growls.
SLEEP sleeping pretty well. except when i happen to wake up in the night on my back, then i really wake up and get all nervous about sleeping on my back.
THINGS THIS WEEK watched inside out. maybe a large mistake. many many cries happened. yikes - for a kid's movie! now i keep thinking of things as little marbles. happy? sad? disgusting? scary? angry? which one is it?
LOOKING FORWARD TO monday is our anatomy scan!
FUN FACT baby's rubbery cartilage is turning into bone.
i apparently didn't start this post early, so nothing exciting (i can't remember the week - hah). oops.
