February Flowers and March Madness

It's spring! Flowers are blooming. They were blooming by mid-February. It's so bizarre to go from a 7 or 8 month winter to a 4 month winter. A very nice little break from the Ferocious Wyoming Winter.
It is the first day of March. March Madness! Crazy how time flies... Soon, my mommy and daddy will be here, and we will be taking the south of England by storm. Actually, I really really hope that it will be sunny and lovely... And after that, Katie Bug will be here and as soon as my exams are done we will be headed to Greece for a Real Vacay, and possibly Spain if things work out...!
(crazy Mr. Seagull...gross!!!)
I can't help but think how very much each experience a person has shapes that person. An afternoon in the Lanes, a weekend in France, a Thanksgiving away from home, a summer job, a night on the town even. Good experiences, bad experiences. Every little bit bears its effects. New perspectives are realized, old and forgotten values are suddenly relevant, happiness is found, sadness is overcome, the list goes on. It's a snowball effect, and it's fascinating. Each new thing, each new experience molds itself to the latest result, and the change is almost visible to the human eye.

Just as interesting is to see someone after a certain period of time and notice a difference in them, and to wonder what crazy experiences caused each bit of change in them. One of the things I am looking forward to in going home at the end of my year here is to see how my friends, my family have changed since I have seen them last. Because it's true what they say: change is inevitable. The only constant in life is change. And however scary and intimidating that might be, it's what makes life interesting.
