British Rain

Today it's raining British Rain. And it's making me homesick. Who would have thought?
I took some 'dreary' rainy day pictures from out the front windows. And of course, a 'during' picture...I just liked this one for some reason.

back in the states...

I am back in the States. Strange? Definitely. Surreal? Borderline. Hard? Quite. Good? Most likely.
Suprisingly (or not) it is just as big a culture shock returning as going. It's so strange to be surrounded by so much American-ness. Really. I find myself calling potato chips 'crisps' and french fries 'chips' and the trash can 'rubbish bin'. And in the middle of all that I find myself at a country wedding and eating ribs. Bizarre.
I just have to keep reminding myself like when I first arrived in England: It's going to be different, just keep an open mind and you will be fine.
I think I am happy to be back. It was so hard for me to get off the plane - to even get on in London, at that - but I guess it's just another stage of life, and life is what you make it. And so I'm going to make the most of it.
So I guess I will start by telling all about my last five weeks in Europe...
But. As it is 11 at night (I know, I know) I am hopefully not still jet lagged, as I have been here for a week tomorrow, but tired all the same, I will begin tomorrow. Or the next day. But soon.

...to be continued

I would just like you to know....

I HAVE NOT ABANDONED MY LIL BLOGGIE

It just so happens that I have exams that are proving to be sehr difficult and also my bestie is here from the States, and so I am slightly busy.

But have no fear. I am documenting [almost] every second - and I say almost, as you probably do not want to hear all about how hard it was to study fundamental frequency and stapedius reflex and impedance matching. And quite honestly, I could probably not actually tell you what they are at all...Your best bet is Google...

Anyways....I am documenting all the good seconds, like our little London trip and our adventures in Brighton when we (when I say we, I mean I) have time, like going on the Volks Railway, which is the oldest electric railway still running in the Whole World!!!

to be continued in July...!!!

Fountains and Pens

Something exciting has happened to me. Some people might call it love at first sight, some might call it finding a soulmate. In any case, I have discovered a gorgeous pen. A fountain pen. The Gorgeous Pen, which happens to be a fountain pen, that you really dip in a little pot of gorgeous real ink!

I was in a pub in town yesterday and ran into some fascinating graffiti in the toilet. My favorite was Beware of Limbo Dancers, on the very bottom of the door, hence yesterday's blog title. Thought I might explain, so as not to cause any confusion...
