hmmm. people, and when i say people, i mean me specifically, but also some/most other people, have a tendency to remember negative things more than positive things.
for example, there was this time when i was in 4th grade and i got in a fight with my neighbor (on and off best friends) because i went over to her house once wearing a really awesome outfit (green overalls...) and she was like "oh my god, claire, you dressed normal for once".
i would remember that far more easily than i would remember a compliment that i got last week (i can't remember getting any, but i'm sure i got at least one...)
i would say the compliment (although maybe i am the only one who considers it a compliment?) the "self-perceived" compliment that i get the most is that i am independent.
because i am. or i try to be, anyways... i think it's really important to be able to depend on yourself, and not constantly Need other people.
there is a fine line though, which i am apparantly still trying to figure out, between being independent and being stubborn. it doesn't mean you are a dependent ball of mush if you need to ask for help. and if you need help, ask for it. because you would want to help someone else that needed you right? it's easy to forget that other people feel that way about you...
